After Effects Tutorials

This was my first time properly being introduced to After Effects and I found it to be very interest in terms of the amount of features it had, along side combining it with other Adobe software. I noticed whilst using AE it had similar areas to Adobe premiere which was helpful in remembering where things were located. Yet again Lynda.com was very helpful in explaining how to use the software and really broke down the process clearly. I worked on the Tutorial 'After Effects CS6 Essential Training with Ian Robinson' which consisted of;
  • Setting up the workspace, important preferences, and the cache
  • reating type, shape layers, and masks
  • Adjusting keyframes in the Graph Editor
  • Building backgrounds with effects etc

Whilst watching the videos i took down notes on where and how I can access areas on AE so i didn't forget anything pointed out.

This chapter was about 2D and 3D interfaces when using text

Importing layer Designs into from PS to AE

This was a quick Tutorial about how to keep your folders organised which i shall be keeping in mind for future references when the time comes.

This process involved combining both PS layers by importing the file as 'composition Retain' the pre composing the layer into its own composition and renaming it.
